This evening as the boys were playing their normal combination of imaginative play and drama, Will was pretending to be a cat. At one point, he stopped and said, “I just laid some kittens.”
During speech therapy, I experienced one of those moments when you wish you could just disappear. As I was having the boys clean up the toys in the waiting room prior to our departure, Drew turned to one of the other moms and asked, “Are you bad?” (I think he noticed her appearance was a little rough.)
Tonight as I was preparing Luke for bed, he hopped down to grab his blankie. In the process, he knocked a sock for tomorrow down on the floor. He bent down and picked it up and returned the sock to the bed. I immediately expressed my appreciation and delight! Luke then said, “I good boy?” I replied, “Yes, you are a good boy!” 🙂
This morning as we were descending the stairs, Drew slipped and fell down two stairs. He bumped his arm in the process. Will, who was closest to Drew said, “Luke, let’s comfort Drew.” Will then gave Drew a hug and wiped away his tears.
I was pretty pleased this morning when Luke pointed to the mouth of the clown on his bib and said, “Red!” Maybe, he’s learning his colors now. 🙂
Jonathan overheard a discussion at the dinner table that went like this: (Drew said something foolish.) Will said, “Drew, you shouldn’t say that. Mommy says it’s inappropriate.”
When Will overheard about the earthquake in Chili, he said, “Why don’t they wear coats in chilly?”
