Tonight as I was cuddling with Drew before bed, Drew said, “Mommy is like a pillow.” I guess he noticed that mommies are “softer” than daddies. I took it as a compliment… 🙂

Becoming Responsible
Luke is really growing and understanding more and more things. Now, when I mention that we are leaving to go somewhere, he goes and gets his shoes and brings them to me.
When we mention prayer, he holds out his hand and says, “Hands.” He likes to hold hands during prayer.
Conviction
Tonight was we were tucking the boys into bed, Will started to sob. We immediately asked him what was wrong. He said, “Because of my sins.” I asked him, “What about your sins?” He said, “Because they are wrong.” He wanted to pray then and prayed a sweet prayer of repentance. Drew asked why Will had been crying. Will said, “Because I was sinning.” It is precious to see/hear true repentance!
Cheerleading Encouragement
It was very cute tonight to hear our boys do the “cheerleading” method of encouraging little brother to eat his food so he could have dessert. Will and Drew clapped and yelled, “Yeah, Luke! Yeah, Luke! You can do it! You can do it!”
Moving
Will has been excitedly helping us to pack for our new house. During lunch today, I think the reality of missing his old life was starting to set in when he asked daddy, “Are moving to a new area?” Jonathan told him yes and that this would no longer be our home. Will got his near-to-tears look and seemed to ponder that for awhile.
Cuteness & Questions
Drew asked Jonathan today if Jonathan was going to put away the bread. Drew then said, “Daddy, I’ll do it. I’m a good helper.” Drew still has his disobedient moments, but his attitude overall seems to be wanting to do what is right.
Last night, Drew and I had a conversation. I don’t remember all that was said, but I remember the highlights of it. We were talking about doing right and obeying God. Drew said he wanted to be good. I told him that he needed God’s help to be good because he and everyone else was born with a sinful heart, wanting to do what is wrong. I said that he would need to ask God to help him and to give him a new heart, one that wanted to do what is right. Drew said, “I want a new heart so I can be good.” I asked him if he wanted to pray, and he said, “Yes.” He then prayed, asking Jesus to give him a new heart so he could be good. Drew and I continued our conversation as I was tucking him into bed. He was concerned about all the bad people that were going to hell. He wanted us to pray for them or something like that. I can’t remember if he also wanted us to tell them about Jesus or not. He then asked me this question, “Can church people go to hell?” Amazed by the depth of his thinking and questions, I replied, “Only those who believe in Jesus as their Savior and have asked Him to give them a new heart can go to Heaven.”
His First Letter
This morning as I was working on dishes, I heard Drew say, “Mommy, I drew the A sound.” I walked over to investigate, and sure enough, he had drawn the letter “A.” I have been working on the alphabet with the boys so it was exciting to see that Drew had remembered!
